City Base vs Nighttime Monsters - DevRubicate/Devil-Fresh GitHub Wiki
A base building game with persistency
The Base
Players built a city-like base, surrounded by a wall. The base automatically has inhabitants that the player cannot directly control. The player can instead issue macro orders like placing down banners on areas of focused interest, or issue edicts on what to focus on.
Building Types
Housing
The population of the base slowly grows, but only if there is free housing available in the base
Resource Conversion
These buildings convert from one resource to another, such as from Iron Ore to Iron Ingots.
Trading Posts
These buildings sends trader to other bases on the planet, selling off excess resources in return for needed resources.
Militia Barracks
These buildings allows the population to take up arms in defense of the city
Libraries, Churches
These buildings allows the player to research prophecy. Prophecy are super useful hints about things that will happen in the future, such as "A dark warlord will strike at this base in 30 days".
Gameplay
The basic gist of the game is survival. You have to work hard not to have your base perish.
Nighttime Monsters
During the night, monsters appear and attack the city from all edges. Being outside the city wall during night is suicidal. The player is forced to gather food and other resources outside the city walls during the day, and then huddle up in defense inside the walls at night, fighting off the monsters.
Monster Dens
These are the spots where monsters spawn. During the day they are harmless, but monsters will still start popping out if players attack them. Destroying all monster dens is the winning condition.
Dark Warlords
These special monsters go around from monster den to monster den to collect and conscript monsters into a standing army, to focus on a base and overwhelm it. May be able to attack during the day. Uses much smarter tactics to overcome the players. Players can send out armies to proactively take out the warlord.
