Editing the Master Stratagem List: The Democratic Arsenal

The Ministry of Defense provides all Helldivers with a standard-issue list of approved Stratagems. However, field conditions change, new assets are deployed, and sometimes, a Helldiver needs to customize their own arsenal.

The Master List Editor gives you complete control over the database of Stratagems used throughout the application. Changes you make here will be reflected in the "Select Stratagem" dropdowns in both the Hotkey Setup and the Trainer.

🔧 Accessing the Armory

To begin, go to the main menu bar and select Stratagems -> Manage Master List.... This will open the editor window.

The dialog is split into two main parts:

  • Top Section: A form for adding brand new Stratagems.
  • Bottom Section: A complete list of all Stratagems currently in your database, grouped by category.

⚙️ Managing Your Equipment

You have full administrative rights over your arsenal. You can add, edit, and delete entries at will.

➕ How to Add a New Stratagem

  1. Use the "Add New Stratagem" form at the top of the window.
  2. Category: To add the new Stratagem to an existing category, select it from the dropdown. To create a brand new category, select "-- Create New Category --" and type the new category name in the text box to the right.
  3. Name: Enter the full, proper name of the Stratagem (e.g., "Orbital Stun Strike").
  4. Code (UDLR): Enter the activation code using the letters U, D, L, R for Up, Down, Left, and Right. For example, the in-game code ⇩⇩⇧⇨ would be entered as DDUR.
  5. Text Icon & SVG Icon: Assign a short text icon (e.g., [OSS]) and, optionally, a more detailed visual icon from the SVG dropdown.
  6. Click the Add Stratagem button. Your new entry will appear in the list below.

✏️ How to Edit an Existing Stratagem

  1. Find the Stratagem you wish to change in the list at the bottom of the window.
  2. On its row, click the pencil icon (Edit) button.
  3. A new, dedicated "Edit Stratagem" window will pop up, pre-filled with that item's current data.
  4. Make your desired changes to the name, code, or icons.
  5. Click Save Changes. The list in the main dialog will update instantly to reflect your modifications.

🗑️ How to Delete a Stratagem

  1. Find the Stratagem you want to decommission in the list.
  2. Click the X icon (Delete) button on its row. The Stratagem will be removed from the list.

✅ Authorizing Your Requisitions

This is the most important step!

Your changes (adds, edits, and deletes) are temporary while the dialog is open. They are not permanently saved to your stratagems.json file until you click the main OK button at the very bottom of the Manage Master List window.

If you click Cancel, all changes you made during your editing session will be discarded.
