I have been learning about processing terms in class this week. Some of these terms I was familiar with from building my own computer, others I had heard of but did not know what they did such as cache, and some I have never heard of before such as buses and pipelines. Although I understand what most of them do, some are hard to visualize such as pipelines. One I did not really understand it did was ALU, I learned it does calculations for the computer but what calculations does it do? Why does it need a separate chip to do this?
