BehaviorDEPOT comes with demo data that can be used to test installation and preview the main features.
How to Use Demo Data
- Each demo file can be downloaded from the Github repository (in the 'demo' folder).
- Each demo contains a video file that can be found at this link.
- Demo files will also contain tracking files, saved as CSV.
- Demo files will contain hB files for demos 1,2, and 7.
- Demo files will also contain cue files (saved as CSVs), where applicable.
Demo Data Descriptions
Demo 1
- This demo is a clip of a mouse in a basic fear conditioning chamber.
- Meant to demo the Analysis Module and the velocity freezing classifier.
- Recorded at 50fps on high-resolution camera.
- Features 8 point tracking (Nose, L.Ear, R.Ear, MidBack, L.Leg, R.Leg, Tailbase, Tail).
Demo 2
- This demo is a clip of a mouse performing a platform-mediated avoidance task.
- Meant to demo the Analysis Module, the velocity freezing classifier on an animal with a head-mount, and custom spatial and temporal filters.
- Recorded at 30fps on a basic webcam.
- Features 9 point tracking (Implant, Nose, L.Ear, R.Ear, MidBack, L.Leg, R.Leg, Tailbase, Tail).
- Includes a cue file (CSV) with time-locked counts of tone periods.
- Select at least 1 custom ROI (platform) and 1 temporal filter (cue file --> tone).
Demo 3
- This demo is a clip of a mouse in an Elevated Plus Maze arena.
- This clip is meant to demo the 'calculateEPM' analysis function.
- You do not need to select any custom ROIs; all task ROIs will be generated by the classifier.
- Task ROIs:
- O1 (Open Arm 1)
- O2 (Open Arm 2)
- C1 (Closed Arm 1)
- C2 (Closed Arm 2)
- Center
Demo 4
- This demo is a clip of a mouse in an Open Field Test arena.
- This clip is meant to demo the 'calculateOFT' analysis function.
- You do not need to select any custom ROIs; all task ROIs will be generated by the classifier.
- Task ROIs:
- Arena (ROI encompassing the arena)
- Center (ROI of the region to consider the center
Demo 5
- This demo is a clip of a mouse in a T-Maze arena.
- This clip is meant to demo the 'calculateTMaze' analysis function.
- You do not need to select any custom ROIs; all task ROIs will be generated by the classifier.
- Task ROIs:
- Approach (The bottom of the T, where the animal enters the maze)
- Choice (The zone at the intersection of all 3 arms; the area where the animal decides between the arms)
- Effort_L (The area on the left arm where the animal exerts effort (e.g. barrier) when choosing the arm; the region of the left arm closest to the center)
- Effort_R (The area of the right arm where the animal exerts effort when choosing the arm; the region of the right arm closest the center)
- Reward_L (The area on the left arm where the reward is; the far part of the left arm)
- Reward_R (The area on the right arm where the reward is; the far part of the right arm)
Demo 6
- This demo is a clip of a mouse in an open field performing a novel object investigation.
- This clip is meant to demo the 'calculateExploration' classifier.
- You do not need to select any custom ROIs; all task ROIs will be generated by the classifier.
- Task ROIs:
- Object Perimeter (Area encompassing the novel object to explore)
Demo 7
- This demo is meant to demonstrate usage of the Inter-Rater Module.
- This demo consists of hB files collected from different 4 different raters.
- Download the demo folder and run the IR Module on it to use.
