Silk

The silk is one of the materials used to make textiles in Japanese culture. In Dawn of Time, it replaces wool in recipes for the culture to give more historical accuracy. This page explains the step by step process on how to get silk. It's can be a long process, so read this guide carefully to not miss any steps.

- First & Second Step -

► Step One: You will need to find Mulberries. They can be found growing naturally in the Taiga biome or Flowery Forest biome. You can harvest them and take them back to your base to create a Mulberry plantation!

► Step Two: Now that you have harvested some Mulberries and taken them back to you base (hopefully without a death or two), let it grow to full maturity (ex: the picture next to the text). There is a small percent chance that a silk moth will spawn around it. The percent chance of spawning will be higher during the night and early morning. So bring a sword or your favorite wolf to protect you through the night.

- Third & Forth Step -

► Step Three: Without sacrifice there will be no great victory. You must kill the silk moth. This will drop silkmoth eggs Dawn Of Time wiki silkmoth eggs

► Step Four: Combine those eggs in the crafting table with two mulberry leave. You will get a silk worm hatchery.

- Fifth Step -

► Step Five: Put the silk worms hatchery in a drying tray with mulberry leaves (the picture example is the drying tray stacked). The silk worm larva will grow over time. When the leaves disappear, the silk worm larva are fully grown and you can collect them from the drying trays. You will need to right click on the drying tray to obtain them.

Tips : If you stack drying trays on each other, you can right click on them and all of the silk worm larva can be obtained at the same time! Faster harvesting!

- Sixth Step -

► Step Six: You will then put the silk worms on a stick bundle (by right clicking). The silk worms will begin to make their cocoons on it. This will take some time (but not a lot). So while you wait cook some food, smelt some metals, or maybe craft a new pair of boots. To harvest the cocoons, just right click on the stick bundle and they will pop off.

Tips : You can place a stick bundle underneath any block.
