IC-Light Controls

The IC-Light Control Panel

The IC-Light module can add some flair to existing images. It is accessed by checking "Input Image" below the main canvas and then selecting the IC-Light tab. Although the interface looks very wordy, most of it can be ignored. Its operation is actually very simple.

Choose the image you want to process and paste it onto the IC-Light canvas, as shown above. To the right of the canvas are the lighting selectors, the key controls for IC-Light. In this case I chose to light the subject from the BottomRight.

The Subject Quick List and Lighting Quick List are simply hints containing words that can be added to the main prompt and do not involve any special technological magic. I typically do not bother with them.

IC-Light Results

If you wish to keep the resulting image close to the original, try using the original prompt and image seed. And if the subject does not fill the canvas, as it does in this example, IC-Light will probably replace the background with a new one. In that case you may want to specify the desired background in the main prompt. In this example, I did not use a prompt and I let FooocusPlus choose a random seed.

When ready, simply press Generate and IC-Light will create a freshly lit image - in fact as many images as you have selected using the Image Quantity slider. The resulting example is shown below, followed by the original. In this case there has been a shift towards green hues and indeed the subject's face is more effectively lit.
