Where a pre-engineered variant is obtained.

• mercenary — bought from the Merc-Coin shop; always arrives at grade 1, some of them with an experimental effect already applied beside that grade-1 blueprint.
• communityGoal — awarded for taking part in a community goal; mostly grade 5, a minority carrying an experimental effect.
• techBroker — unlocked at a tech broker. Records the route stated by the source.
• eventReward — awarded already transformed by an event; the festive articles are grade 5.
