I'm making a site that matches people by their preference of which place they want to travel to.
People will tell me where they want to go and who they want to go with.
I then show them people that want to go to that same area with them!
A great way to match them by having them add a lat/long, enter a country or throwing a dart on a map.
I love to travel myself so this would be a fun thing to make as well.
My first focus will be on a good page for user registration.
Second to that a nice overview page that lists all the users that fit the criteria of the user,
Last of all working on a proper profile so you can edit your own and press a shiny button to connect to others.
If I have time this means a request to match that both parties need to accept before seeing their e-mail or something similar.

My idea for a matcher is to match people based on their color preference. When registering or after registering they will tell their own color preference and any other preferences they might have. Later they can see other users preferences and can find them based on this.The color-thing is more of an icebreaker, a small USP that makes it a bit more fun.
It's a good way to start a conversation by finding common ground about how you both like blue, compliment the tint of yellow they picked or point out to them that green is not a creative color.
