🧱 Minecraft PortMaster Troubleshooting Guide

Made for helpers, testers, and the "I broke it again" squad 😅

This guide is aimed at those helping others troubleshoot issues with the Minecraft Port on PortMaster. It’s based on the most common and easily fixable problems we’ve seen.

🤪 Stupidity Prevention Zone (a.k.a. "Did You Follow the Instrucions?")

Before you ask for help... Take a deep breath. Ask yourself: "Did I actually follow the instructions, or did I YOLO it?" 😅

Ive made a beautiful, delicious, easy-to-follow video tutorial to help you install this port without frying your brain. Please watch it first.

If you still mess up after watching it, we’ll help. But if you didn’t watch it and ask something that’s literally shown... we will lovingly bonk you with a virtual stick. 🪵✨

🖥️ OS & Device Specific Notes

❌ Crossmix or "PACK" for Trimui Devices

Crossmix and similar setups are not supported on Trimui-based devices and won’t be supported anytime soon. Please use KNULLI or muOS instead.

🔇 R36S (especially with ArkOS)

“Audio is missing” ArkOS seems to be missing OpenAL libraries. This will be fixed once I get my hands on an R36S. Until then, either live without sound or switch to another OS.

🚫 Rocknix and Panfrost (OpenGL3)

While Rocknix supports OpenGL3, it often performs poorly on low-power devices (like those with RK3326 chips). It sounds good in theory, but in practice... not so much.

❗ Common Errors

❌ Missing Runtimes

/tmp/weston/westonwrap.sh: line 48: /tmp/javaruntime/bin/java: No such file or directory

This one’s straightforward: the Java runtime is missing. 👉 Tell them to download it from the PortMaster-New/runtimes repo and place it in their PortMaster/libs folder.

Note: The Launcher should warn them about this. If they claim they didn’t get a warning, tell them to update their port.

🧵 1.16.5 + Fabric

There are three common problems here:

  1. If they’re using an R36S — stop them right there. 1.16.5 is too heavy. Recommend 1.7.10 or 1.12.2 instead (though even those won’t run great).

  2. If they get this error:

[12:38:09] [WARN] [FabricLoader/Knot]: Class path entries reference missing files:
    ./.minecraft/versions/1.16.5-Fabric/1.16.5-Fabric.jar

    It means they either:

    • Haven’t installed Fabric correctly, or
    • Are using an outdated or broken install.

👉 Ask if they used the official Fabric Installer and the official Minecraft client.

🏴‍☠️ Piracy Error

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/mojang/authlib/yggdrasil/YggdrasilAuthenticationService

The red flag here is: com/mojang/authlib/yggdrasil/YggdrasilAuthenticationService This error usually means they’re using a pirated copy of Minecraft.

🎯 Ask if they’re using the official Minecraft Launcher. If they admit to using TLauncher, LegacyLauncher, or something similar, kindly stop offering support unless they can prove they own the game. We only support legit users. Period.

🐌 Performance Issues

Let’s be honest: most of these devices aren’t gaming beasts—especially the R36S. Don't expect 60 FPS… or even 30.

But here’s how you can help:

  • ✅ Tell them to lower all in-game settings or use a pre-made options.txt.
  • ✅ Recommend 1.7.10 or 1.12.2 with Forge + Optifine, which can boost performance noticeably (but still won’t be perfect).
