Record of Decisions

Action Items

  • Brian will create the proposed TD for Issue #51

Minutes

The call started with a review of the current TDs. Brian showed the current posted TDs on the GitHub website.

Brian then reviewed the pull requests he had made to the new adoc version of the docs for the existing TDs and a few of the comments so far. There has been no objection to accepting the version in the working branch as the so this will be the starting point for the v1.1 work.

The call then turned to a review of the issues that were marked for review.

With the exception of Issue #51, all issues were moved to v1.1. Several of these were related to how the cryptographic requirements were written into the SD. They were "derived" from the explicit specs, but not written out in exact duplication, which seemed to lead to issues in terms of where some of the numbers or information came from. These do not cause problems with the use of the tests, but should be clarified. Additional references to the specifications will also be added to make it clear where the authoritative sources for the algorithms should be found.

The remaining issues Supporting Document of +2 and Supporting Document of +1 have been marked as moving to v1.1 by Brian. These need to be reviewed to determine if they should be fixed in an immediate TD or left to v1.1 keeping in mind the following points:

  • A TD should fix an issue with how the cPP/SD work, so if the fix is a typo (one that doesn’t materially impact something, like an incorrect SFR), it is too small for a TD at this point

  • A TD should not require wholesale changes to requirements or how the cPP/SD are written as it should only offer corrections or clarifications

In short, the TD shouldn’t be too small (typos) or too large (wholesale changes).

All the remaining issues will be reviewed quickly on the next call before being moved to the v1.1 project.

Brian will plan to do some GitHub training soon so more people can participate in the editing of the docs in GitHub.

The call ended at 1:05pm EST.
