# The CTS Tablet's Limited System Settings - DE4II/advocacy-tools GitHub Wiki

Allowing incarcerated individuals access to many Android system settings, such as security and network settings, increases the risk that they will gain access to unauthorized features or content. For this reason, settings apps on tablets designed for incarcerated individuals often contain access to only a fraction of the available settings.

The Settings App on the CTS [tablets](https://github.com/DE4II/advocacy-tools/wiki/ CTS-Tablet/) is no different. The Settings App itself contains only a subset of the Display, Sound, and Accessibility settings while the keyboard gives access to a subset of the Keyboard settings.

The following settings are available:

Display Settings

  • Brightness
  • Font Size
  • Display Size

Sound Settings

  • Media Volume
  • Call Volume
  • Alarm Volume
  • Notification Volume
  • Prevent Ringing

Accessibility Settings

  • Select to Speak
  • Switch Access
  • TalkBack
  • TTS Output
  • Dark Theme
  • Magnification
  • Dwell Timing
  • Auto-rotate Screen
  • Touch and Hold Delay
  • Caption Preferences
  • High Contrast Text
  • Color Correction
  • Color Inversion

Keyboard Settings

  • Languages
  • Auto Capitalization
  • Double-space period
  • Sound on Key press
  • Appearance and Layouts
  • Gesture Typing
  • Text Correction

Note: Some of these settings have no affect. For example, the tablets have no way to connect switches, so the Switch Access setting has no affect. Likewise, the Gesture Typing settings do not actually turn on gesture typing.
