System Config and Setup Page - CurryKitten/CurryKitten-Sim GitHub Wiki
The System Config and Setup page is where most of the non-flying options of the Sim are changed. A specific change was made to remove the previous splash screen from earlier versions of the sim where you could select your graphics level, resolution and whether to run in a window or not. Any option you choose from this page will be saved for subsequent sessions. https://github.com/CurryKitten/CurryKitten-Sim/blob/master/Wiki/0.46b-system%20menu.jpg
- Graphics Level
Whilst the Sim has been designed to run on lower-spec machines, you might find that dropping the graphics level is a way of making things run even smoother - although it's also very dependant on the resolution used as well.
- Resolution
A list of possible resolutions is worked out and presented as a drop-down list based on your graphics card and monitor. In the first run, it'll default to your native resolution.
- Run in Fullscreen
Use this to toggle between a windowed display and fullscreen. Fullscreen will give you the best experience, but if you need to attend to something else on your desktop, or you are streaming the game, then it's always handy to drop it down to a window temporarily.
- Restore Default Settings
This will restore the Sim to it's default settings, and also remove any saved data that the Sim has written. This option was specifically included as in Windows, the registry is used to hold saved data, and is a pain for users to remove if they need to. Sometimes when upgrading to a new version of the sim, it's worth using this option to remove older settings that have changed, or are no longer used. If you click on the option, you'll be given a warning and asked to confirm your choice. https://github.com/CurryKitten/CurryKitten-Sim/blob/master/Wiki/043-Defaults%20warning.jpg As you also remove remapping, calibration and joystick preferences when restoring to the defaults.
- Hide props from view
This was originally included as a means of debugging an issue, but as some people don't like the props in view I've kept the option available. It's here as a system setting because we're making the props invisible, which isn't really a characteristic of the quad itself.
- Volume Level
As well as being able to turn the sound of the quad on and off, the volume level allows you to alter the volume level in comparison to the rest of your system. So if you want to listen to music on your PC and just want to hear a little bit of drone noise, you can adjust the level accordingly here.
- Play Music in Menus
By default when you navigate around the game menus, the theme music will play. If you want to turn it off, then untick the box.
- Start Sim In-Game
By default, the game starts in the main menu (the Pause menu) if you want to bypass the menu and start the game directly in the FPV view, then tick this box.
