Setting up HOBO

1. Open HOBOware software

2. Insert HOBO into the Optic USB Base Station and connect USB into the USB port.

3. When the device is successfully connected "1 device connected" will appear in the bottom right hand corner of the window.

4. Click on log on device and set up the device name and set the read intervals to 30 seconds. This should be able to cover a duration of 10 days which should cover the duration of the experiment.

5. Before setting up the device make sure to check the battery level.

6. If all parameters are okay, set up the device and disconnect the USB base station.

7. Remove HOBO from the Base Station and place into the desired incubator.

8. Repeat the procedure with the rest of the HOBOs.

Uploading data

1. Open HOBOware Pro Trial

2. Connect the HOBO via it's USB port. When the device is successfully connected "1 device connected' will appear in the bottom right hand corner of the window.

3. Click on the 'Readout device' icon, found in the top left hand corner (second icon).

4. Change the temperature settings from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

5. Click `plot`.

6. Save the data.

7. Export data as an excel file by clicking the 'Export Table Data' icon on the tool bar. Save the csv. file generated.
