Celsius autocorrelated profiles - Cuddington-Lab/documents GitHub Wiki

How to make autocorrelated profiles for Celsius

  1. Open thermalseqgenerate3 in R

    • Make sure that code is saving file to correct location on computer
  2. Adjust mean temperature to desired (line 20)

  3. Adjust upper and lower thresholds to reasonable temperatures if necessary

  4. Select all and run the code

    • Continue running code until target autocorrelations are met (exactly 0.95, 0.95rev and 0 and as close to 0.60 as possible)
  5. In files, locate the .csv file: temps_mean_meantempsd_25, where meantemp is whatever mean temperature you programmed in R and open with Excel

  6. In files, open the .csv file: Simplelong_Sample in Excel

    • Next steps are easiest if the two files are opened on the left and right side of the screen simultaneously
  7. Copy the temperature data from column A of the temps_mean_meantempsd_25 and paste it into column C of the Simplelong_Sample file

  8. In the Simplelong_Sample save the file in the AphidProfiles folder in Documents as a text (tab delimited) using the standard profile naming convention (simplelongmeantemp_autocorrelation_meantempreplication#)

  9. Find the text file that was just saved and open in in Notepad

  10. Save the file as the same name, adding .cel to the end

  11. Repeat steps 7-10 with Columns B-D in the temps_mean_meantempsd_25, always copying and pasting in Column C of the Simplelong_Sample file
