๐Ÿ“บ CreaTV

CreaTV is an unofficial streaming platform client specifically designed for Android 2.3 to Android 10 devices. It allows lightweight and optimized access to live streaming content.

๐Ÿš€ Features & Compatibility

CreaTV supports the most popular streaming platforms:

  • ๐ŸŸฃ Twitch
  • ๐ŸŸข Kick
  • ๐Ÿ–ค TikTok Live
  • ๐Ÿ”ด YouTube Live (Implemented via iframe API to bypass anti-bot restrictions)

โš™๏ธ System Requirements

  • Operating System: Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) up to Android 10 (Quince Tart).
  • External Video Player: An external video player installed on the device is required to play streams.

๐Ÿงช Testing & Player Recommendations

  • โŒ Google Photos: Likely to fail or experience incompatibility issues when attempting to stream on older Android versions.
  • โœ… VLC Player (Recommended for Android 4.0+): It is strongly recommended to use VLC Player, as it offers greater stability, compatibility with network formats and advanced features such as Picture-in-Picture (PiP).

[!WARNING] Presents unexpected closures (crashes) on Android 2.3 to 3.2

  • โœ… MX Player (Recommended for Android 2.3โ€“3.2): It works correctly and without failures in legacy versions where VLC generates problems.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Chat Support

Currently, live chat is only supported for Twitch.

How to use the chat feature?

  1. Enable the chat checkbox inside the CreaTV app.
  2. When starting a stream, launch the external video player (e.g., VLC Player) and tap the Minimize / Picture-in-Picture (PiP) option.
  3. The video will float in a small window while the live chat renders in the background.

โš ๏ธ Known Issues & Technical Notes

1. Backend Delays / Cold Starts (Render.com)

Occasionally, launching a non-YouTube stream or loading the YouTube Player may trigger uncontextualized errors or a timeout.

  • Cause: To keep the app completely free, the backend server is hosted on Render.com (free tier). If the instance goes idle, it takes a few seconds to spin back up.
  • Solution: If a stream fails on the first attempt, simply try again after 3 seconds.

2. Performance on Older Android Versions (Android 2.3 - 4.4)

  • Devices running Android 2.3 to 4.4 (Gingerbread / KitKat) may experience lag or bugs on YouTube Live streams. This is caused by the unoptimized iframe API performance on legacy system WebViews.

3. Proxy TLS 1.2 / 1.3 (Android 2.3 - 3.3)

  • Proxy support TLS 1.2/1.3 for Android 2.3 to 3.3 is currently in experimental phase, so connection or instability failures can occur when connecting with modern servers.
