User Testing

While this project is still in its beginning stages, it is very important to validate any design and User Experience (UX) assumptions we make about this tool.

We don't want to spend precious time developing something only to find out people can't or won't use it. That's why user testing is essential.

How to Conduct User Testing

First of all, thanks for considering helping out with this!

Three things are needed to conduct a simple user test:

  1. A prototype to show people
  2. A group of people to show the prototype
  3. Standardized and open-ended questions to ask people

Prototype

The link to the prototype to share with people is:

With this link you can install a shortcut to your phone's home screen to pull it up faster.

A group of people

This is the first thing anyone can do. Get a group of undocumented people together. It could be:

  • Friends
  • Family
  • People at Church
  • People walking by a store
  • Invite people to a potluck

Questionnaire

Here are some basic questions to consider asking people:

  1. Is this easy to use?
  2. Is this hard to use?
  3. Would you use this?
  4. What did you like about it?
  5. What did you not like about it?

Feel free to ask any other questions.

NOTE: if you want to create a google form with this and other questions, I can add it here for other people to use.

User Testing Process

To make this process easy and smooth, here is a suggested script/agenda you can use to guide you when you get a group together.
