Maintenance Iteration Review

  • Attendees were invited to participate in a process improvement review for Maintenance Iterations.
  • The raw input and synthesised feedback is available here: https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVNzxv1Pk=/
  • Feedback was synthesised identifying several themes:
    • Consider improvements the communication of changes adopted for Maintenance Iterations
    • Consider improvements to the process by which changes become binding obligations
      • Avoid obligations for changes that coincide with any major go-live dates for industry
      • Consider grace periods and drafts of standards that aren't immediately enforceable
      • Consider having a minimum lead time for changes to come into effect even if they are non-breaking changes
    • Consider establishing separate domain-aligned maintenance iterations (feedback indicated a lack of banking changes and lots of energy changes in 2023 led to lack of engagement from the banking sector)

Backlog Grooming Maintenance Iteration 18 Candidates

The DSB started with a list of iterations candidates carried over from MI 17 as well as initial candidates considered a priority. These issues were discussed. The outcome was that several issues were removed from the candidates list for this iteration. Participants also raised additional candidates that were discussed and they have been included for consideration as candidates for this MI.

Documentation

  • #615 Plan Obligation Milestones for 2025
    • Given the lack of clarity of industry go-live dates for NBL, it was decided that obligation windows that avoid clashing with significant go-live dates could not be consulted on effectively. As a result, it was agreed that this candidate would be put into the backlog until such time that NBL dates are known.
