#1 | We are grappling with issues serving up data on Accounts. We have very few features that are stored in core banking systems – most are available in product collateral. As a result we are using a stand alone product reference data solution as the source for Product reference Data (PRD) and we know that this is the approach that many others have taken. In the standards the Account Detail features array states “Array of features of the account based on the equivalent structure in Product Reference with the following additional field.” Is this intended to be the features that the customer has made use of/enabled at the account or all of those available on the type of account? If the former, there is a significant risk that it will not be consumed as such and will be seen as a low feature account, when in fact it is not (eg just because an account doesn’t make use of an offset doesn’t mean it isn’t available). Further, if the direction is that it should be just those features that are ‘enabled’ then we cannot just associate with product and serve up all features – the result would mean that we would end up showing less than the full set of features actually enabled (unless we came up with some chicanery to assume certain features are always enabled whereas others have to be ‘checked.’ |
