On this example there is no bus line created. To continue the user first needs to build a bus line on the map. This is done by placing a Bus depot and next to place some Bus stops for setting the line. Repeat steps 1-3.

  4. The Cities:Skylines Transport Line manager will show the new line now in the panel. The more lines, the more entries the paneö will display.

  5. The displayed line will now be converted to a "School Bus" line for a district. First, we will change the vehicle on the line from a common commuter bus into a school bus.

For that, click to the "Bus" symbol under column "Model". A new selection box will open. The selection box will show all available bus vehicles in the game.

For the school bus line, select now the "School Bus" for our line. Bus Tutorial 06
Now the "School Bus" was taken over and from now on, only this vehicle will spawn on this bus line.

Note 1: The game will have some time, until all bus vehicles are changed to the new selection. It usually happens, when the workshift of the vehicle ends and it returns to the bus depot. Once returned to the bus depot, a new vehicle based on the recently selected vehicle type will spawn.

Note 2: The standard Cities:Skylines Transport Line manager does allow user to pick specific models, it is always only one model only or randomly spawned vehicles.

Note 3: Choose the "Dice" and Cities:Skylines will spawn a random vehicle from all the vehicle assets having the applicable vehicle type currently active in the game.

Note 4: To control the vehicle spawn based on type, it is required to subscribe to Improved Public Transport (by BloodyPenguin) or Transport Lines Manager (by Klyte). Here it is possible to select multiple specified vehicles to spawn.

The "School Bus" is now the designated vehicle for this line.

  6. To identify the School Bus line even better, the name of the line shall reflect the proper name. Click to the text field, which currently shows "Bus Line 1". Simply click in here and overtype with "School District". Press Enter.

Now the Bus line has been renamed.

  7. Finally the operation hours for the School Bus line will be limited.

The three checkboxes on the define the operation hours, "Sun" = Day, "Moon" = Night and "Sun/Moon" = Day & Night. As this is our School Bus line, the children will only travel during the day. Therefore the tick will be done to the "Sun" and from now on the bus line will be only operated during day.
    Bus Tutorial 09
Note: Applies only, if the Day/Night cycle has been activated in the Game Options

The line is now completly configured. This tutorial is applicable for all Public Transport vehicles managed by Cities:Sklylines.
