02.05 Vehicle Settings - CityGecko/CS-AdvancedVehicleOptions GitHub Wiki
This section explains the settings for the vehicles. Most of them are self-explanatory, some needs additional information to understand, what Advanced Vehicle Options does.
Maximum Speed - Setting defines the maximum speed a vehicle can go. Positive values only. Depending of selection in the Mod Options, the unit of speed will be shown as km/h or mph.
Accelaration / Brakes / Turning - Settings define, how fast a vehicle will accelarate and how quick the vehicle will stop. Turning will change the swaying left to right when changing lanes. Positive values only.
Springs / Dampers - Settings define the up and down motion when a vehicle is stopping and accelerating. Use slight decimal changes only, high values will make the vehicle go crazy. Positive values only.
Lean / Nod Multiplier - Settings defines, how much a vehicle will tilt when turning or in curves. Use slight decimal changes only, high values will make the vehicle go crazy. Positive and negative values possible.
Color Variations - Choose up to four colors, in which the selected vehicle can spawn. Disable the checkbox, if vehicle shall use the asset standards. If you want only one color, set all colors to the same value. Use hex values in the textfields to define unique colors. Here is a link to HTML Color Codes.
An alternative to the direct hex value entry is to use the color picker. Simply click to the color box in front to open the color picker.
Compatibility Info: Vehicle Colors
If the mod Vehicle Color Expander is used, Advanced Vehicle Options will disable the color selection functionality and gives the color selection priority to Vehicle Color Expander.
Allow this vehicle to spawn - This setting controls, if a certain vehicle type shall be spawned by Cities:Skylines. If disabled, the selected vehicle will no longer spawn in the game.
Compatibility Info: Vehicle Spawning
Cities Skylines has taken over the spawn capability for selected public transport vehicles. This includes at the time of game version 1.13.0-f8 (Sunset Harbor) the following vehicles: Bus, Trolley Bus, Sightseeing Bus, Metro, Tram, Monorail, Ferry, Passenger Helicopter and Blimps. Advanced Vehicle Options will disable the spawn control for these vehicles, giving the priority to Cities:Skylines.
Advanced Vehicle Manager will display for these vehicles a button, which allows to enter directly the Cities:Skylines Line Overview. The user can now configure the vehicle type spawn settings
Learn here how to set up Transport Lines and Vehicles in the Cities:Skylines Transport Line manager.
Replace last car with Engine - If a rail vehicle is selected, it is possible to replace the last car of the train with the engine model, so that this train will drive in future with two engine heads front and back. This will make the train not looking weird when leaving the train station in the opposite direction.
Synchronize Engine with Trailer - Select this checkbox to quickly copy the train engines properties to the train carriage. Only the common data fields will be copied (Speed / Accelaration / Brakes / Turning / Springs / Dampers / Lean / Nod Multiplier).
Capacity and Special Properties - Defines the passenger or cargo capacity for the selected vehicle. If the Game Balancing option is activated, the capacity shown can be for Fire Engines the firefighting rate, for Police vehicles the crime rate and for Maintenance vehicles the maintenance rate. For some vehicles there will be also additional properties, which can be changed here.
If it is not clear, what a certain value / property stands for, do not change it. Each change and on these values will have an impact on the game balance.
If a Passenger Plane type vehicle has been selected, the mod will be able to change the Stand Size selection for this plane. Simply pick from the the dropdown list the desired size. Please note, that not very plane looks good on the selected Stand Size and also the animations will not fit (especially when having a large plane assigned to a small stand).
It will take some time before the planes will start docking at the changed Stand Type, as all planes must first finalize their travel. Only planes, which spawn after the change of Stand Type will dock at the new selected Stand Types.
