Several Zombie variants have been added to the game. Most of them have regional requirements in order to spawn.
Skeleton counterparts
Stray
They're Zombies wit Stray attire. They will inflict Slowness on the player when attacking them. They won't burn on sunlight. When slain will drop Stray Robes (8.5% chance); and Tipped Arrows of Slowness if they're holding a Bow.
Stray Zombies have an 80% Chance of spawning on biomes where Strays can spawn. When rotting, they will become Strays, instead of regular Skeletons.
Bogged
They're regular Zombies with mushrooms on their heads. They won't burn on sunlight. When slain will always drop 1 brown or red mushroom.
Bogged Zombies have a 40% chance of spawning on swamps, where Bogged spawn. When rotting, they will become Bogged Skeletons, instead of regular Skeletons.
Surface Variants
Infected
Infected Zombies are the main source of Phage. They can be identified by the arrow embedded on their upper half and the green potion effect particles. When attacking the player will inflict weak Phage. This gives the player 20 minutes until they become Zombified.
When slain will always drop a Phage Arrow.
Infected Zombies have a 1% chance of spawning above y=63 and a 20% chance of spawning in Infected Cities.
Citizen
Citizen Zombies are well-dressed zombies and the main source of Elegant Attire. When slain they can drop their clothing pieces. They have a 10% chance of also being Infected Zombies, as such able to inflict Phage.
Citizen Zombies have a 1% chance of spawning above y=63, a 10% chance of spawning in Infected Cities, and a 50% chance of spawning on Infected Citadels.
Infested
Found in Strongholds (5%) and Infected Citie's sewers(20%).
They will spawn with 4 minutes of the infested potion effect.
Underground Variants
Lush
Overgrown Zombies covered with greenery from the Lush Caves. They will inflict Slowness when attacking a player. They won't burn on sunlight. When slain will always drop either a big or small Dripleaf.
Lush Zombies have a 50% chance of spawning on Lush Caves, and a 1% chance of spawning below y=63.
Dripstone
Dripstone Zombies hold chunks of dripstone, and stalagmites have started growing on their heads. They won't burn on sunlight. When slain will generate a small splash particle.
Dripstone Zombies have a 50% chance of spawning on Dripstone Caves, and a 1% chance of spawning below y=63.
Amethyst
Zombies with heads covered by Amethyst Shards. They will inflict Slowness with a blinding flash when attacking the player. They won't burn on sunlight. When slain will always drop a single amethyst shard.
Amethyst Zombies have a 1% chance of spawning below y=63, and a 100% chance of spawning on an Amethyst Block.
