Sculk Plantoid - CiscuLog/Survivor-s-Elegy GitHub Wiki
A Sculk Plantoid is a vegetal-like lifeform that feeds on xp. It can be planted on decorated pots and be used as xp containers. Any player is able to add and retrieve xp from a plantoid.
Planted sculk plantoids resemble spore blossoms facing upwards. Their petals are all a dark blue tint, characteristic of sculk blocks. The center spot of the flower is lime green, and a stem grows from it.
Obtaining
Crafting
A Sculk Plantoid is crafted with 1 pitcher pod and 2 echo shards.
Usage
Xp storage
The item on itself is not really useful. The plantoid must be deployed before it can be used.
Putting a plantoid in an empty decorated pot will plant the entity the player can interact with. The player must interact with the pot to deploy the plantoid, other means of insertion won't summon the plantoid. Multiple plantoids can be put on a decorated pot, but only 1 entity will be summoned.
Acting on the plant (right click) will retrieve some xp from the player and store it in the plantoid. If the plantoid is full, it won't accept any more xp. A plantoid can accept up to 30000 xp points.
- If the player has 30+ xp levels, the plantoid will take the xp of 30xp levels worth.
- If the player has between 10 and 30 xp levels, it will take the xp of 10xp levels worth.
- If the player has between 1 and 10 xp levels, it will take the xp of 1xp level worth.
- If the player has less than 1 xp level, the plantoid will take all of the player's xp.
Attacking the plant (left click) will retrieve some xp from the plant and give it back to the player.
- If the player attacks the plant while crouching, it will try to retrieve a single level of xp.
- If the plantoid has more than 30 xp levels stored, it will give the player 30 xp levels worth of xp.
- Otherwise, the plantoid will give the player all the xp remaining in the plantoid.
If the Sculk Plantoid item disappears from the pot, the entity will die. The same will happen if the pot the plantoid is in disappears. When a plantoid entity dies, it will disappear and spat out all the contained xp on a single enormous xp orb. The plantoid item will always be returned.
Xp Bottling
Acting on a plantoid while holding a glass bottle will take 7 xp of the plantoid and give the player a bottle o'Enchanting in exchange for the glass one. The bottles won't always have 7 xp in them, since the vanilla amount is random, but it will always take 7 xp from the plantoid.
Growth Stages
An xp-fed plantoid will pass through 5 blooming stages, indicating the approximated amount of xp it has stored. There are a total of 5 different stages a plantoid can go through. A plantoid losing xp will go back on the blooming scale.
Each stage makes the central stem of the flower grow taller. Latter stages of blooming display xp orbs on the stem, while early ones are signs of an unfed plantoid.
Beetroot Shenanigans
The base minecraft item for the Sculk Plantoid item is Beetroot. This means the player could craft a beetroot soup with a plantoid, or breed pigs with them. This would be a wasteful use of the item and is not recommended unless in dire situations.
