Fire Springs - CiscuLog/Survivor-s-Elegy GitHub Wiki

A fire spring is a hot spot on the metamorphic caves that generate on top of netherrack and magma blocks. Fire springs emit large amounts of smoke, forming tall columns that can reach the ceiling of the nether. They burst and despawn after certain amount of time, which is around 5 minutes.

Behavior

Spawning

Fire springs replace 10% of the blazes if:

  • The biome the blaze spawned in is Metamorphic Caves or Metamorphic Edges.
  • The block right below is compatible.
  • There is no other fire springs in a radius of 16 blocks.

Particle Emission

Fire springs emit a different amount of particles during his lifetime. Since the start of their lifetime they will emit campfire smoke particles forming columns and lava particles on the base. At the mid-point of their lifetime fire particles will appear at the base. At the latest stage, the fire and lava particles will intensify.

Forced Death

Breaking the block directly below the fire spring will cause an incandescent explosion, dying on the process and damaging its surroundings. Getting killed by the explosion will show the message "Player was blown up by Incandescent Matter"

Natural Death

At approximately 300 seconds the fire spring will burst, summoning from 0-5 small fire charges, as well as a 10% chance of spawning a blaze on the spot.
