Copper Gear - CiscuLog/Survivor-s-Elegy GitHub Wiki

Copper tools and armor can be crafted like you would with any other tool material, but using copper ingots.

Tool Strength

Copper tools have a mining speed that places them between Stone tools and Iron tools.

Copper tools can be used to mine everything an iron tool would be capable of. However, Copper Pickaxes cannot mine diamond ore block variants.

Durability

Copper tools have the strength of iron, but are significantly less durable. The durability values are the following:

  • Copper axe: 150
  • Copper Pickaxe: 150
  • Copper Hoe: 150
  • Copper Shovel: 150
  • Copper Sword: 150
  • Copper Helmet: 80
  • Copper Chestplate: 140
  • Copper Leggings: 125
  • Copper Boots: 95

Oxidization

Copper gear will oxidize over time when worn on the hand or any armor slot. Each item will go through the 4 stages of oxidization, each stage lasting around 25 minutes on tools, and 50 on armor.

Each item will check the oxidization levels of the rest of the armor items and the held item when trying to oxidize. If there are copper items with lower oxidization levels, it won't oxidize.

Oxidation will be halted if the entity wearing the copper gear is standing on a honeycomb block. On the other hand, oxidation will be 5 times faster if the entity wearing it is underwater or standing in rain.

This feature is purely cosmetic, and doesn't change any significant characteristics of the item.

Electrical Discharges

Copper armor can store electrical charges on them to be released when an entity hits the player to hurt the attacker.

When crafting a copper armor, it will be completely discharged. If the player is wearing the armor under a thunderstorm, every lightning that strikes 128 blocks around it will add 3 charges to every copper armor piece. When the armor charges up, it will perform an area attack damaging 4 hp to all entities in a 5 block radius. A copper armor piece can hold up to 512 charges.

If a player gets hurt by an entity while wearing a charged copper armor, the armor will damage the attacker dealing 3 hp of copper discharge, and a single charge from the full equipment will be spent. Not all entities can be targeted or damaged by a discharge. The charges will start depleting from boots first, following leggings, armor and helmet. If one piece of armor is missing, it will skip that item and spend a charge from the next on the list.

It doesn't matter how far the attacking entity is, the charge will always reach and damage it. For instance, being shot by a skeleton will shock the skeleton, not the arrow, and the same applies with ranged attacks like llama spit, fireballs, etc. When discharging, a trail of electric sparks and blue flame fire between the player and the attacker will visualize which entity has received the discharge.
