Definition: Permission sets are collection of setting and permissions which give a user additional access from the access that they have already got from their profile.

  • You can assign permission set to user only. You can assign permission set to 1000 users at a time.

  • Single user can be assigned to multiple permission set, single permission set can be assigned to multiple users.
  • Permission sets based on license type but not compulsory once license assigned can not be removed from permission set
  • We can not control page layout assignments using permission sets
  • Permission sets with no license selected don't include all possible permission and settings

Permission sets are visible from the related list on the user’s record, Permission sets can simply be added and removed, from ‘Available Permission Sets’ to ‘Enabled Permission Sets’
