CreditCardMatch
Getting a credit card is an important financial decision for almost every American. However, credit cards can be complex and choosing the right one can be overwhelming. The goal of our website, Credit Card Match, is ultimately to help users become familiar enough with credit cards so that they can confidently choose their next card and not doubt or regret their decision.

Phase I: Analyzing Users, Competitors, and Initial Designs
Executive Summary
-
Credit Card Match's Goal:
- Present a simple, transparent, and unbiased service for tailored credit card recommendations
- Help users confidently select cards that align with their lifestyle and financial goals
-
What We Learned:
- Existing services provide useful comparison tools, but lack thorough filtering and often include clutter or unrelated information that complicate the process
- Most credit card comparison services use similar layouts and presentation, suggesting a convention for navigation that is familiar to users
- Personalized recommendations should account for overall spending habits and financial goals per user
-
Important Takeaways:
- Users need trustworthy and personalized guidance to make a confident selection
- Design should stay minimal and UI flow should feel obvious and manageable
- Keep filtering tools and explanations should help users identify relevant information without them feeling overwhelmed
- Ensure users understand why a credit card is right for them by explaining the reasons behind their recommendation, rather than just telling them which card to choose
