Sonaveil Celebration Guide
A warm holiday during the coldest times!
Sona's Veil is our cold solstice celebration - a time to gather, stay warm, and enjoy the beauty of the cold season together! This guide will help you celebrate properly~
When to Celebrate
Sonaveil happens during cold seasons around the cold solstice on
alterash prime planets. The exact timing varies by planet, but it always coincides with the coldest, darkest time of year!
The celebration period usually lasts several weeks around the solstice.
Stay Warm Together
The holiday's core message is simple: stay warm together when it's cold outside! This means both literal warmth and emotional warmth through gathering with your sisters.
Wrap up in warm blankets, wear layers, and most importantly - huddle together for warmth and comfort~
Warm Scarves
Special blue scarves are given out by local outposts during Sonaveil! Though some altas prefer to knit their own - these warm cotton clothes have become the symbol of the holiday.
Wearing your scarf shows you're celebrating, and they're perfect for staying cozy during outdoor activities like building snowaltas!
String Lights & Decorations
Hang colorful string lights everywhere! They brighten the long dark nights and create such a warm, festive atmosphere.
Wall scarves and fabric hangings add color and coziness to indoor spaces. The warm reds, yellows, and whites contrast beautifully with the cold blue snow outside!
Building snowaltas is one of our favorite traditions! These are alta-shaped snow statues made from:
- Packed snow for the body
- Crystals for decorative accents
- Ayaka branches for arms
- Fruit for the nose
- Scarves, hats, lights for decoration
They're so cute standing in the snow!
Snow Activities
Sonaveil isn't just about staying inside! You can:
- Building snowaltas together
- Snow fights (snowball cannons make this easy!)
- Making snow drawings
- Sledding down hills
- Walking through fresh snowfall
Just don't forget your warm scarf! It's cold out there~
Hot Drinks
Staying warm means drinking warm! Traditional Sonaveil beverages include:
- Hot tonna yaavi milk - sweet and creamy!
- Warm gheamont tea - gentle and soothing
- Hot sona milk - made from heated sonava juice
- Spiced aya punch - festive and warming
Serve them in your favorite mug while sitting by the lights~
