Information Regarding Account Rules and Limitations - CatsAndBoats/catseyexi GitHub Wiki

Account rules:

Q: What is a "Active" character?

A: A active character is a character that is active within the server. Once you log into a character it then will be considered "active"

Q: Can I have multiple accounts?

A: You are allowed upto 2 maximum in-game characters. This can either be one account with two active characters or two separate accounts with one on each! (No exception)

Q: Can I have two active characters on the same account?

A: No. Players are limited to a maximum of 2 characters per household/IP address. New accounts are limited to 1 character, resulting in a maximum of 2 accounts per person. Please choose carefully when selecting your character name and race. The staff have removed the ability for players to delete their own characters, so make sure you choose wisely. You will be stuck with the characters you create!

Q: Can I have two active characters on two accounts?

A: No. This is in violation of the rules of the server. A single person is allowed two active characters maximum.

Q: Can I have multiple accounts if someone else in my household plays?

A: You must first submit a ticket to be on the servers "exception list" Both persons must report one or two active player names (in game name) This will allow you to have two active characters for both you and said person!

Note: As this applies to households with multiple people having access to more than two active characters we will monitor these players. We do not want to see one person in the household controlling more than one active character at a single time. This also applies to Auto-follow, crafting, fishing (HELM) and chocobo digging.

Q: I have more than two active characters between two account's, what should I do?

A: This is a violation of the rule. You must decide on two active characters to keep and submit a GM ticket to have the violation cleared. If you decide not to report more than two active characters within a reasonable amount of time your account will become locked and all characters will be removed without notice. Once your characters have been deleted you will never be able to recover them.

Q: Can I have a account with two active characters if I have a IP exception?

A: Yes! Each person is allowed a maximum of two active characters! This can be either two account's with one active character on both or one account with two active characters.

Q: I have one active character on two account's (dual box) is this allowed?

A: Yes! You are at the maximum allowed active characters limit.

Q: I have three active characters on one account and three on another. Is this OK?

A: This is a violation of the rule. You must decide on two active characters to keep and submit a GM ticket to have the violation cleared. If you decide not to report more than two active characters within a reasonable amount of time your account will become locked and all characters will be removed without notice. Once your characters have been deleted you will never be able to recover them.

Q: I have a exception for another household member but they only want to have one account and character. Am I allowed to use the additional character they do not want?

A: No. This is in violation of our rule. One person is allowed two active characters maximum.

Q: I have multiple active characters to collect event items and points for the login campaign. I do not play these characters other than this. Why am I being asked to remove them?

A: This is a violation of our rule. You are exceeding the maximum account character limit. You are also using these characters in a unfair advantage to benefit yourself and this will result in jail and or account locking at the GMs discretion.

Q: Can I log into my friend's account?

A: No, this poses a risk to overall server health. Any players caught violating this rule will have actions taken against them.

Q: Why does the Goblin Mystery Box hand out out of era items?

A: The goblin box pulls item flags directly from a table in the database, item flags are a binary mask, expressed as a decimal number. To remove them would mean manually turning off the correct bits (and ONLY those bits) of each entry in the table. To do this, you need to do some math, however, you would still have to go through 40.000+ items one by one. This is because only certain items have a "level" attached to them. Those are already removed though. Some items, while very rare, do happen to be in era, so to say. We don't have "dates of introduction" in the database. So we would have to do some research on about 10k items.
