Sprint Notes

Skyla

  • On gov incentives( ESG Small business incentives google doc)
  • 30% over 3 years or 50% over 2 years, list of all things that can be claimed. For SB, revere the cost faster, so you have some cash to work with.
  • Found a “cash-back” program: submit a green purchase for a flat return cash, has a DB for cash back incentive programs. Look into linking our app to that list.
  • Disclosed dad’s position, make sure to disclose his participation whenever
  • Justin and Skyla set up web app on Azure, free DB and cloud hosting things. mostly whatever Azure can provide we have access to
  • Will show cloud/git workings

Greg

  • Linked to pw consumption DB, third-party DB so legality things might cause issues for commercial viability
  • Helped comb through gov incentives, found a lot for home retrofitting options, can be extrapolated to small businesses
  • class 43.1 and 43.2 items are important for us
  • Energy star portfolio, need an account though
  • Lots of buzzwords in gov docs without setting any real goals “outlining canada’s plan” whatever that means, vague
  • looking into foreign policies, lots of retrofitting, but not much looking forward

Elise

  • Created competitor analysis doc
  • created email template to easily catch small businesses
  • keeping links updated to useful documents, lots of things to look into
  • Requirements/Git issues, create structure and processes for issue tracking and requirement gathering
  • 2 extra people reached out to

Justin

  • Some research into EU and CAN laws for green house emissions tracking
  • Got some documents ready for ready, all added to the Drive
  • found out about turbo carbon
  • created starter react app and created dev branch
  • spoke with Mustafa, will interview with us and chat about the product to provide feedback, mentioned that the largest source of emissions was transportation, might be the case for a lot of businesses.

Ahmad

  • tacked onto competitors to get brochures and demos for the apps
  • made a list of features: generating reports/ custom reports, scheduling inspections, etc.
  • drafted an email to the uottawa legal team to ask for some info on green things
  • read through climate plan…very sad

For next week

  • Create style guide/UI mockups
  • Conceptualize database schema
  • Figure out Azure stack to be used
  • Look into testing framework for front-end
  • Dig a little bit into specifics
