Scope Adjustments - CSC4790-Fall2024-Org/Sports-Betting-Tool GitHub Wiki

Overall, we were definitely able to hit the major points from our original scope. We successfully implemented both positive expected value and arbitrage opportunity pages using live data from the API, and an education page. With these pages, we were also able to add in styling to make every page look more appealing to the user. We agree that these were the main features that we definitely wanted to include in our project.

However, we did slightly overshoot our initial scope from the beginning of the semester. One feature that we wanted to include but didn't have the time for was a bet tracking page, that would be able to track how much a user has wagered in a calendar format, and what their results were. We still think that this could be a great addition for the future, but the preliminary steps simply took longer than expected to complete. We were also slightly held back by the API that we were using. At the beginning of the semester, the free version of the API gave us data to a couple of sportsbooks that were moved to strictly the paid version during the semester. This was unlucky, but it just meant that we had to pivot slightly and use a little bit less data in our final version.
