Alpha Test Results - CSC4700-Spring2024-Org/csc4700-team-project-socialconnect GitHub Wiki
Who the alpha testers were and how much time they spent testing the app
- One of our alpha testers was Joey Lamanna because he is the primary content creator we know. Being that he is also one of the developers it was useful to have him test the new pages and functionality based on his experience with social media apps. Because he is a developer he has spent countless hours testing various areas of the application.
- Another one of our alpha testers was Luke Franco. He is small content creator for a game called League of Legends. We decided to pursue his expertise because of his experience primarily posting on TikTok, so he would benefit from using our platform. He spent around 30-60 minutes using our app over the course of working on this release.
What the testers discovered, i.e., their feedback on the app, including problems and suggestions
- Joey Lamanna - Joey offered advice for more personalization on Social Connect by adding their profile picture somewhere. Another suggestion Joey had was to fix an issue on the feed-page where clicking certain buttons on the calendar would cause the feed to refresh each time. Another piece of advice Joey offered was to keep the fonts consistent across the website because they are all different.
- Luke Franco - Luke offered advice for the design of our header and sidebar. He thought our site would look more professional if we removed the header, so we were able to implement that for this release. He also suggested to make changes to the buttons on the post-feed page. He also suggested to make the Instagram and TikTok feed on the dashboard make the videos the same. Make arrows at bottom left and right for analytics component on dashboard to move easier because the dots are too small. Make the font for newest comments more similar to other pages. Posting page font at the bottom is weird. The comments should be able to tell if they are coming from Instagram or TikTok.
How you will address their feedback for the Final Release
- We will take the steps necessary to take the advice to implement it in time for the final release based on our judgement of the importance of their advice.
