Due to the general size of CReSIS data, it is advisable to do this on winproc1
To log into winproc1, use remote desktop connection and point to aq-winproc1.cresis.ku.edu
, you will use your KU account to log in. Additionally, you will want to use at least version 10.3.1 (older versions will work, but the steps are very different)
Once you have created your map (see a geography student or google arcmap for tutorials):
*Right click on the layer > Data > Export Data...
*Set the cell size, NoData values, and save space (can not be in the geodatabase). You may select the "Use Renderer", "Force RGB", and "Use Colormap" to force the final output to display as shown in the window.
*Once done, you may zip all the files together and proceed to load the maps into the geodatabase as explained here: GeoServer Examples
