How to publicize events at CCSF

  • Post an event announcement to the relevant club Google Groups
  • Email all the CS/CNIT/… faculty & ask them to announce to their classes, post in their online forums, etc.
  • Have club members stand up & make announcement in their CS/CNIT classes.
  • Write up notices on the whiteboards in:
    • BATL 413 (definitely here)
    • BATL 451 (lots of CS classes in here)
    • BATL 453 (lots of CS classes in here)
  • Post flyers in these locations:
    • BATL outside CS department office entrance
    • BATL inside ACRC
      • if you tell the lab monitor that it's for a CS club, then they'll let you post flyers inside the ACRC:
        • on desktop where everyone signs in for a computer
        • above the Linux row
        • on the glass so folks can read when ACRC is locked (ideally placed so people still can read, even when ACRC doors are open)
    • SCIE 008 (lots of CNIT classes here)
    • SCIE 037 (lots of CNIT classes here)
    • SCIE 214 (“Hacker Lab” for CNIT computer security classes)
    • SCIE 200 (Sam Bowne's computer forensics class)
    • CLOU 218 (lots of CNIT classes here)

In the past, the club Google Group announcements, faculty announcements & the whiteboard notices in BATL413-451-453 have produced the most results.
