How to restart the club every semester

a.k.a. Getting Officially Recognized by Student Activities

The definitive instructions are on the ICC website, so remember to double-check that the instructions below are still correct, and to update them if anything has changed.

Pro Tip: complete club recognition paperwork for next semester at the end of current semester, using information from club members who know they’ll be returning for next semester. Also, get people committed to being officers for the following semester by the end of the current semester too. You can finish up club recognition paperwork at the Peer Advising sessions, but really in trouble if no officers before semester starts.

  1. Complete Hard Copy Club Packet
  2. Signature Card * Treasurer & Advisor complete
  3. Cash Advance Form * Treasurer & Advisor complete
  4. Club Advisor Contract * Advisor completes
  5. Complete E-Packet
  • Some things you will need:

      • Name
      • Email
      • Phone Number
      • Student ID/Mailbox for advisor
    • Minimum of 12 Members
      • Note: President, Treasurer, and ICC Rep can be members
      • These rest may be collected during the club's usual peer advising session
      • For each member you will need:
        • Full name (as registered with CCSF. No Nicknames)
        • Student ID
        • Email
    • Decided meeting date, time, and location
    • Anticipated Club Events
  • After obtaining all of the above:
  1. Complete Officer Training
    • All club officers must be:
      • enrolled in a minimum of 6 units and maintain a 2.0 GPA throughout the semester
      • a student may be president or treasurer of only one club
        • which suggested that person can ICC rep of more than one club
        • we've already confirmed that a person can be President & ICC Rep or Treasurer & ICC Rep
      • must attend in-person officer training
  2. Have faculty advisor complete online advisor training
  1. After all of the above, a Club Representative must attend an Associated Student Council Meeting
  • Check with ICC to make sure the above requirements are met prior to attending meeting
  • Club Representative may be any member of the club
  • AS Council meetings are usually Wednesdays at 3pm in Student Union 208 (see their website to confirm)
  • The Club Representative must then present the club’s current mission statement to the AS Council
    • the AS Council will then vote on approval and allocate funds to the club.

Congrats you are now a club!
