Motor sizing

Mass of the body to hold=1 kg

Diameter=0.08m

Acceleration due to gravity=9.8ms^-2

Co-efficient of friction=0.4

Force

F=mg* Co-efficient of friction

=1* 9.8* 0.4=3.92N

Torque(T)

T=F(D/2)

=3.92(0.08/2)

=0.1568Nm

considering FOS=1.3

Final torque=T*FOS

        =0.1568*1.3

        =0.20384Nm

        =(0.20384*10^2)Nm

        =20.384Nm

        =(20.384/9.8)kg/cm

        =2.08kgcm

Comparing with DC geared motor specification the required DC motor is with 60RPM rated at 12v.
