INTRODUCTION TO KINETIC SCULPTURE:

Kinetic sculpture is art that depends on motion for it's effect.Scientifically defined as "any purposeful aesthetic creation that, in order to be considered complete,depends on the designed,extraneous physical movement of one or more of its parts to a degree that is within the perceptible range of human senses". The numerous varieties of the genre include sculptures whose components are moved by air currents,as in the well known mobile of calder; by water;by magnetism, or by the electromechanical devices;or by the participation of the spectator himself. The aim of most Kinetic sculpture is to make movement itself and integral part of the design of sculpture and not merely to complete static objects.
