Introduction
The changes that want to make parking activities smarter and more efficient are proposed to monitor and communicate to motorists the availability of parking spots, contribute to a better flow of traffic, exploit parking search times and increase the precision in parking fees. Pick A Park suggests a possible solution to place in each parking spot.
Each parking spot will be fitted with a wireless smart parking sensor, Bosch - Parking Lot Sensor (PLS) that will detect and report parking space occupancy.
It utilizes the discretionary LoRaWAN protocol for wireless communication and can therefore be integrated easily into any Smart City project.
The Parking Lot Sensor PLS with TPS110 IN sensor core is designed for detecting parked vehicles in parking lots.
The placement must take place in the center of the parking space in order to ensure optimum sensor accuracy. In more detail, to provide the adhesive with a closed substrate, the surface intended for the installation of the sensor base should be free of any gaps or misalignment. This is fundamental for the contract surface and the adhesive effect of the sensor.
Parking Lot Sensor PLS has these technical specifications:

Pick A Park, in addition to the efficiency in the consumption of the batteries of the sensors without the need for connection to the electrical network, manages messages for each monitoring station / sensor, ensures interoperability between applications, IoT service provider and telecommunications service provider, and protects the privacy and data security through an encryption system (Embedded end-to-end AES-128 encryption).
Looking in more detail to the local solution, Bosch Parking Lot Sensor parking sensor is able to identify and report the spaces available within a parking lot, allowing the user to know, through the use of the Pick A Park application, the time required to reach it and, subsequently, to make the payment directly with the smartphone only for the time needed to park. The sensors can be easily installed without further and expensive construction works of structures other than those already in place, consequently ensuring a reduced initial investment expense.
