Uninstalling or Reinstalling the Game

In case you run into issues or a situation where you feel like a fresh reinstall would be best, this page is for you.

Switch

Uninstalling

  1. Delete the following plugins in sd:/atmosphere/contents/01006A800016E000/romfs/skyline/plugins/
    • hdr-launcher.nro
    • libstage_alts.nro
    • libstage_config.nro
  2. Navigate to sd:/ultimate/mods and delete the following folders
    • hdr
    • hdr-assets
    • hdr-stages

Reinstalling using the Launcher

The easiest way to reinstall on the Switch is to use the HDR launcher to do the heavy lifting. Note that this process will take a long time and requires an internet connection and the ability for your internet to access GitHub. You don't have to babysit the process, just make sure your Switch doesn't die while it's running.

  1. Delete any plugins in sd:/atmosphere/contents/01006A800016E000/romfs/skyline/plugins/ that are not
    • hdr-launcher.nro
    • libarcropolis.nro
    • libnro_hook.nro
    • libsmashline_plugin.nro
    • libstage_alts.nro
    • libstage_config.nro
  2. Navigate to sd:/ultimate/mods and delete the following folders
    • hdr
    • hdr-assets
    • hdr-stages
  3. Launch the game
  4. The HDR launcher will throw an error, this is expected and fine
  5. Tap "Install HDR"
  6. Sit back and wait for it to finish

Note that the Switch may pop up a message at some point during the process saying that the script is taking a long time to finish. This is fine, just tell it to continue.

Manually

If you'd rather reinstall manually, then

  1. Delete any plugins in sd:/atmosphere/contents/01006A800016E000/romfs/skyline/plugins/ that are not
    • hdr-launcher.nro
    • libarcropolis.nro
    • libnro_hook.nro
    • libsmashline_plugin.nro
    • libstage_alts.nro
    • libstage_config.nro
  2. Navigate to sd:/ultimate/mods and delete the following folders
    • hdr
    • hdr-assets
    • hdr-stages
  3. Follow the installation guide

Emulator

Uninstalling HDR

  1. Navigate to yuzu/sdmc or ryujinx/sdcard
  2. Delete all plugins in atmosphere/contents/01006A800016E000/romfs/skyline/plugins/
    • Note you probably want to keep libone_slot_eff.nro and/or liblocal_latency_slider.nro
  3. Navigate to ultimate/mods and delete the following folders
    • hdr
    • hdr-assets
    • hdr-stages

Uninstalling yuzu itself

  • If you have a portable install (you have a user folder next to your yuzu.exe), then deleting the yuzu folder will delete the entire yuzu install
  • If you have a standard install (File -> Open Yuzu Folder takes you to your AppData folder), then follow these steps (TODO)

Reinstalling using the Launcher

The easiest way to reinstall on emulator is also to use the launcher. This process won't take as long as the Switch, but the launcher's progress bar is broken on some machines, so it may appear stuck when it's not. Be patient and the process will finish eventually.

  1. Follow the steps for uninstalling HDR only
  2. Open the HDR launcher
  3. The HDR launcher will throw an error, this is expected and fine
  4. Tap "Install HDR"
  5. Sit back and wait for it to finish

Manually

  1. Follow the steps for uninstalling
  2. Follow the HDR section in the installation guide
