Stepper Motors
Each stepper motor contains two coils, each of which have two output wires. This means that, for any given motor, there are four output wires colored red, blue, green, and black.
Each pair (red/blue or green/black) belong to the left/right sides of a single coil in the motor called a "phase". Therefore the wires must be appropriately grouped for the motors to turn clockwise or counterclockwise. That is to say, the order of the grouped wires matters in relation to the orientation of the wires.
| Wire Color | Location |
|---|---|
| Red | 1 |
| Blue | 2 |
| Black | 3 |
| Green | 4 |
