Sensor compatibility & power consumption - Breezedude/breezedudeWindSensor GitHub Wiki

Compatibility

I you want to upgrade firmware, always check compatibility with sensor firmware first. If in doubt, upgrade both.
This table shows tested combinations, that are recommended for new builds

Sensor recommended Sensor firmware recommended Breezedude firmware
WS80 1.2.8 V0.6
WS85 1.1.4 V0.6
WS85 UART 1.1.5 V0.6
WS90 WS80 1.2.8 V0.6
Davis 6410 - V0.6

Power consumption comparison

(mods according to wiki, avg data, indoor, no solar)

Sensor (Firmware) avg power Sensor only avg whole system Breezedude compatible Breezedude min. firmware version
WS80 (1.2.8) 1.2 mA โœ… V0.5
WS80 (1.2.9) 14ยน mA - โŒ -
WS80 (1.3.1) 14ยน mA - โŒ -
WS85 (1.0.9) 0.90-1 mA โœ… V0.5
WS85 (1.1.2) 0.95-1 mA โœ… V0.5
WS85 (1.1.4)
WS85 UART (1.1.5) 0.9 mA 1.2 mA โœ… V0.6
WS85 UART (1.1.7) 0.76 mA โœ… V0.6
Davis 6410 -ยฒ <1 mA โœ… V0.5

ยน WS80 1.2.9 and 1.3.1 Firmware with UART mod does not switch to deepsleep, therefore the power consumption is very high.
ยฒ Breezedude switches off power supply of direction sensor if not in use. Overall sensor power consumption is neglectable low.
