This is the configuration for w1 for group 3

IP - Initially is 172.16.1.100 but then given one in the .100 - .150 range through DHCP later

Hostname - w1-kitten

Network Configuration

  1. Make sure that the network adapter in vcenter is on your LAN

  2. After turning on w1, click on the small network and internet settings icon in the corner. Then once the settings menu pops up, click on change adapter options. Then click on Ethernet0, then click on properties, then click on Internet Protocol Version 4. From there we are going to set a static IP of 172.16.1.100, the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 (/24), default gateway 172.16.1.2, and for now the DNS server to be 172.16.1.2

After a little bit of sitting you should have internet connectivity

Joining Domain

  1. Click the search bar in the bottom left and type in "control panel" and click on that option

Then click on "System and Security" and from there click on "System". Then click on change settings for "Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings".

Select the option "Change" and from there type in the name of the domain you would like to join

It will prompt you to enter a domain admin username and password to do so, as well as an option to change the computer name (hostname) and do so to w1-kitten

After a little while an icon will pop up saying you have joined the domain and your system will restart
