Live stream with OBS - BotnoiVcast/Vcast-Tutorial GitHub Wiki
Introduction
Vtubers, or virtual YouTubers, are a popular phenomenon in the world of online entertainment, where creators use avatars and virtual characters to create content and interact with their audiences. Live streaming is an essential part of the Vtuber experience, and OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is a widely used tool for this purpose.
In this guide, we will provide an overview of how to use OBS to live stream as a Vtuber and share your content with the world. We will cover the basics of setting up OBS, configuring your stream, and troubleshooting common issues. Whether you are just starting out as a Vtuber or are an experienced streamer, this guide will help you get started with live streaming using OBS.
-
Download and install OBS on your computer.
-
Download and install a virtual camera plugin for OBS. There are several options available, such as OBS VirtualCam and vMix Virtual Camera.
-
Once the plugin is installed, launch OBS and go to the "Settings" menu.
-
Under the "Output" tab, select "Virtual Camera" as the "Output Mode."
-
In the "Virtual Camera" settings, choose the virtual camera plugin you installed from the "Device" dropdown menu.
-
Next, add a new scene in OBS and drag and drop any desired sources into the scene, such as a video file, a webcam feed, or a screen capture.
-
Once you have set up your scene and sources, click the "Start Virtual Camera" button to begin broadcasting your scene through the virtual camera.
-
Open any video conferencing or streaming software that supports using a virtual camera as an input, such as Zoom or Skype, and select the virtual camera as the video input source.
-
You should now be able to use the virtual camera as if it were a real webcam, and the scene you set up in OBS will be broadcast through the virtual camera to the video conferencing or streaming software.
