Policy On Prohibited Behavior

We are dedicated to maintaining a respectful and safe environment for all MagicChatbox users. Our Terms of Service (TOS) ensure that all interactions remain civil and free of harmful language.

Any language or behavior in lobbies that causes friction or disrupts the experience for others will be subject to enforcement.

Guidelines for Acceptable Use

  • 🚫 No Hate Speech:
    We have a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech targeting any individual or group based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic. While some expressions might initially bypass detection, any language that creates friction or disrupts the lobby environment will be acted upon.

  • 🫂 Respectful Interaction:
    Users must refrain from using language that incites anger or conflict. We reserve the right to intervene when language or behavior escalates tensions, regardless of the specific words used.

  • 🕵🏻‍♀️ Impersonation and Disruption:
    Impersonating other users or staff, sharing offensive content, or attempting to hack or disrupt the service will result in immediate action.

Actions We May Take

We reserve the right to suspend or ban any MagicChatbox user if we detect actions or language that negatively impact the community. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • 1. Spreading hate speech.
  • 2. Promoting antisemitism.
  • 3. Engaging in bullying or harassment.
  • 4. Sharing offensive content.
  • 5. Impersonating other users or staff members.
  • 6. Attempting to hack or disrupt the service.

Each case is reviewed individually to ensure actions are taken only when necessary to protect the community and maintain a positive environment.

How Do I Know I Got Banned?

MagicChatbox enforces two main types of bans, each with distinct behaviors and consequences:

👮🏻‍♂️ Standard Bans

  • Temporary Ban:
    Effect: You are prevented from starting the MagicChatbox application.
    Data Retention: Your personal settings, statuses, and other saved data remain intact, allowing you to resume where you left off once the ban expires.

  • Permanent Ban (Permaban):
    Effect: You will be permanently blocked from starting the application.
    Data Reset: All your data—including personal settings and statuses—will be reset to default, and you will lose further access to MagicChatbox.

📦 Integration Ban

  • Overview:
    Integration bans limit your ability to send or share content that may be considered offensive (such as hate speech) through chats, statuses, or custom settings.

  • Variations: Temporary Integration Ban: Your ability to publish content is restricted for a set duration. Permanent Integration Ban: The restrictions on content publishing remain indefinitely.

In every instance, if a ban is applied, you will receive a notification detailing the type of ban, the reason for the action, and (when applicable) the duration.

How Can I Appeal My Ban?

In most cases, bans are not reversible. We maintain a robust management system—including screenshots and video recordings—to support our enforcement actions. Each ban is carefully reviewed by multiple staff members to ensure fairness and prevent personal biases from influencing decisions.

If you believe your ban was issued in error, you have the following options:

  1. Join Our Discord Server:
    Submit an appeal by creating a ticket in the appropriate channel. A moderator will review your case, but please note that most bans remain irreversible.

  2. Email Appeal:
    Send an email to [email protected] with your VRC-user ID and a detailed, honest explanation of your situation.
