Persona - BogdanViblyy/Buketov GitHub Wiki
A persona is a fictional, yet realistic, character that represents a key user type for your product. Personas are not real people, but they are created based on research and data about your actual users.
The goal of a persona is to build empathy and create a shared understanding of the user within the team. It helps answer the question, "Who are we building this for?"
Why Use Personas?
- Builds Empathy: Helps the team step into the user's shoes.
- Focuses Decisions: Provides a common reference point for making design and feature decisions ("Would Priya use this?").
- Improves Communication: Creates a shared language for discussing users and their needs.
- Guides Prioritization: Helps prioritize features based on which persona they serve and what their primary goals are.
What's in a Persona?
A good persona is concise and memorable. It typically includes:
- Name and Photo: A realistic name and stock photo to make the persona feel human.
- Demographics: A few key details like age, occupation, and technical proficiency.
- Goals: What is this user trying to achieve by using the product?
- Frustrations / Pain Points: What problems do they currently face that our product can solve?
- A Short Bio or Scenario: A brief narrative that brings the persona to life and puts their goals in context.
- A Quote: A short, memorable quote that summarizes their attitude.
