Resolving Name Server - Bobleoble/tech-journal GitHub Wiki
Item Description
The Resolving Name Server (RNS) is where your computer goes if it is unsure of what a domain name's IP is. Your computer asks the RNS if it knows what the IP of the requested domain name is. If the RNS does know the IP, then it gives it to your computer. If it doesn't know the IP, it refers to the Top Level Domain servers. Due to the fact that the RNS always knows the address of the Root, it is able to cache that information for use when it requests help from the top level domain servers.
