DIN MIDI
Adding a DIN MIDI input and output only takes a few parts and can be done on the breadboard.
USB MIDI is easy to use but can add noise to any device it's hooked up to. This method is isolated and is seen on lots of hardware going back to the early '80s.
1/8" MIDI
Some new hardware gets rid of the bulky DIN and uses an TRS 1/8" connector. You can use the jack in your kit to attach to this cable.
If this doesn't work simply flip the wires connected to the tip and ring of the 1/8" jack. Unfortunately there is not one standard but this KORg type one is the most popular.
