SEO

BizzCMS has search engine optimisation built in, in the style of Yoast SEO.

The SEO card in the editor

Every page, post and category has an SEO card with three tabs:

  • SEO: focus keyphrase, related keyphrases, SEO title, meta description, a live Google preview, and the checks.
  • Social: the title, description and image used when the page is shared on Facebook, LinkedIn or X, with a preview.
  • Advanced: hide from search engines (noindex), do not follow links (nofollow), canonical address, breadcrumb title, Key content.

Auto-fill SEO

Press ✦ Auto-fill SEO and BizzCMS fills every empty field from your content:

  • the focus keyphrase and related keyphrases,
  • the meta description (from the summary or the first sentences),
  • a shorter SEO title if the title is too long,
  • the featured image description.

It never overwrites what you typed. Read the suggestions, adjust, then save.

The checks

Green is good, orange can be better, red needs work.

  • SEO analysis: keyphrase in the SEO title, description, URL, first paragraph, a subheading and an image description; how often it is used; whether another page already uses it; title and description length; text length; links to your own and other sites; images and their descriptions; headings.
  • Readability: long sentences, long paragraphs, missing subheadings, sentences that start the same way, and (for English texts) passive voice and transition words.

The two scores appear as dots next to each title in the Content list.

Admin › SEO

Tab
General Site name (added as "Title | Site name"), home page tagline ("Site name - tagline"), default description and share image, the company or person behind the site, social profiles.
Indexing Hide the whole site from search engines (for a test site), extra robots.txt rules, the text of llms.txt (instructions for AI assistants), what goes into the sitemap, and the RSS feed.
Redirects Send old addresses to new ones (301 permanent or 302 temporary). Search, delete, import a list (CSV), and see how often each is used. An old address ending in * covers everything that starts with it. At the top, Not found lists every address that ended on "page not found" in the last 90 days, with hits and where visitors came from: Redirect… fills in a redirect, Dismiss removes it.
Check Every page, post and category that needs attention, your Key content first.

Sitemap: choose what is in it

SEO › Indexing › Include in sitemap has a tick box for each part of your site: Pages, Blog posts, News posts, Categories, Tags, extra collections (for example Portfolio) and the pages built into the site (such as the Blog and News overview pages). Unticked parts are left out of the sitemap; the pages stay online. To leave out a single page or post, use Advanced › noindex in its SEO card.

Submit /sitemap.xml to Google Search Console; it lists the parts (for example /sitemap-blog.xml) and Google finds them itself. A sitemap file can hold up to 50,000 addresses, so thousands of posts are fine.

RSS feed

Your posts are also published as an RSS feed, like on WordPress: /feed/ (all posts) and per section, /blog/feed/ and /news/feed/. Each post shows its featured image first, the author, categories and tags, and the full text or a summary. Under SEO › Indexing › RSS feed you can switch it off, choose how many posts it holds (5 to 100, 20 by default) and full text or summary.

What your website gets automatically

  • The page title, description, canonical address and social sharing tags.
  • Sitemaps for Google (one per content type) at /sitemap.xml, and robots.txt.
  • Structured data for Google: your company, the website, each page, articles with author and dates, and breadcrumbs.
