Tree Tab - BigMilt/PathOfBuilding GitHub Wiki
Overview
The Tree Tab allows you to create passive skill trees for your character. The Tree tab contains several features including:
- Passive Tree Management
- Search
- Node Power
- Find Timeless Jewel
Passive Tree
The passive tree takes up the majority of the screen in the Tree tab. The passive tree can be navigated in much the same way as the in-game passive tree.
A full list of Passive Tree shortcuts are viewable on the Hotkeys page
Allocating nodes
Hovering over a node will display the Stat Difference display which will show the effect allocating or unallocating the node will have on your character's stats. The Stat Difference display can be temporarily hidden by holding Ctrl
or toggled on/off by pressing Ctrl
+D
.
Clicking LMB
on a node will allocate/unallocate the node. If the selected node is not adjacent to a currently allocated node the most efficient path to the new node will also be allocated. You can overwrite the pathing taken to a distant node by holding Shift
and tracing the desired path to the node.
Masteries
Rather than unallocating and reallocating a Mastery node, RMB
will allow you to easily switch which Mastery is allocated on that node.
Tattoos
To add tattoos to your passive tree click RMB
on a small-passive node to bring up the tattoo replacement menu. To reset the tattoo applied to an individual node you can select 'Reset Node' from this menu. Resetting all tattoos is possible through the 'Reset Tree/Tattoos' button on the bottom bar and selected the 'Reset Tattoos' button.
Passive Tree Management
A build can contain multiple passive trees, these are typically used to showcase levelling progression or different setups of the build.
You can manage and switch between your build's passive trees using the dropdown menu at the left-hand side of the menu at the bottom of the Tree tab.
Selecting 'Manage trees...' (Shortcut Ctrl
+M
) from this dropdown menu will allow you to Create, Rename, Copy, Delete, Import, or Export trees.
Comparing Trees
You can compare differences between two trees in your build using the 'Compare' checkbox next to the passive tree selection dropdown menu. This will create a second dropdown menu to the right of the checkbox allowing you to select a passive tree to compare to the first. Nodes which are allocated in the second tree but not the first will be shown in green, and nodes which are in the first tree but not the second will be shown in red.
Search Function
You can search for specific stats or node names using the Search function at the bottom of the Tree tab, this will highlight matching nodes in red.
Matching modifiers which are not currently on screen will show as red circles on the edges of the tab.
Node Power
The Node Power function searches for nodes which will have the largest impact on specific stats for your character.
The stats that are searched for can be changed using the dropdown menu which becomes visible when the function is activated.
If you have a limited number of passive points available or wish to speed up the Node Power function the distance to search can be reduced by selecting an option in the dropdown menu to the right. By default the function will search the whole passive tree with the setting "All", changing to a different setting such as 5, 10, or 15 will limit the search to passives within the respective distance, this also greatly improves performance of the function.
The Node Power function can be toggled with the shortcut P
or using the checkbox at the bottom of the Tree tab.
When a stat other than Offense/Defense is used to search, a Power Report can be generated using the 'Show Power Report' button. The Power Report showcases the stat differences, amount of required points, and the stat differences per required point.
