Ideologies in Victoria 3 are traits that Interest Groups have which determines what laws they are interested in passing. For the Better Politics Mod, the ideologies have been entirely reworked in order to allow for a more comprehensive and dynamic experience when it comes to watching the Interest Groups of the nation change over time.

Colors

Each ideology in the Better Politics Mod is color coded, in order to give the player a broad idea of what general ideological outlook a specific ideology subscribes to. A single ideology may have two colors in its icon to represent multiple ideological outlooks blending together. The colors used in the mod are the following;

• Red is associated with Party Socialism and Communism.
• Orange is associated with Radical Liberalism.
• Yellow is associated with moderate Liberalism.
• Green is associated with Agrarianism and related ideals.
• Blue is associated with Conservatism.
• Purple is associated with ideological Reactionism and Aristocracy.
• Pink is associated with Social Democracy and Progressivism.
• Black is associated with Anarchism.
• White is associated with Religion and Theocracy.
• Brown is associated with Fascism, Militarism and modern Authoritarianism in general.
• Grey is associated with Traditionalism and Institutional Interest Groups in general.

Categories

Additionally, each Ideology falls into one of 10 categories, defined by what Laws it relates to. Institutional Interest Groups tend to only have a few, while Ideological Interest Groups usually have all of them. Here is the list of said 10, in the order that they appear on the Politics Screen of one's country;

• Governance Ideologies relate to the Governance Principle law.
• Executive Ideologies relate to Executive Structure law.
• Distribution of Power Ideologies relate to the Distribution of Power, Bureaucracy, Free Speech, and Labor Unions laws.
• State Ideologies relate to the Centralization, Internal Security, and Policing laws.
• Economic Ideologies relate to the Economic System, Trade Policy, Land Reform, Taxation, and Slavery laws.
• Welfare Ideologies relate to the Education System, Health System, Labor Rights, Children's Rights, Welfare, and Work Time Regulations laws.
• Citizenship Ideologies relate to the Citizenship and Migration laws.
• Religion Ideologies relate to the Church and State law.
• Military Ideologies relate to the Army Model, Colonization, and Officer Composition laws.
• Women Ideologies relate to the Rights of Women law.
• Party Ban Ideologies relate to the Party Laws.
