Well-trained and well-equipped, noble soldiers are capable of fighting both individually and as a mixed-unit force. Footmen and Billmen are the most common troops and are backed up by Arbalesters and Standard Bearers. Specialist Men at Arms, Zweihanders and Fencers bring unique equipment and skills, strongly complimenting the regulars they support. Battlefield Sergeants and Marshals bark orders that are faultlessly followed, while heroic Knights with their Squires can be a hammer or an anvil to the opposition. The strongest of companies are accompanied by Heralds of their liege, protected by brave and deadly Herald's Bodyguards.
In addition to scaling for longer games than vanilla, we've reworked existing units and added new units for Nobles to bring unique challenges to the table.
- A strong faction at all stages of the game
- High morale
- Well equipped with shiny gear
All noble soldiers have the "For the Realm!" effect which causes them to receive no morale check from dying allies as long as they outnumber their opponents and their faction banner is being held high.

- Men at Arms are jacks of all trades that can come equipped with different kinds of two-handed weapons. They have the Pattern Recognition perk which makes them formidable in prolonged engagements.
- Zweihanders use skillful Footwork and Kata Steps to get into favorable positions. They use their large swords to cut through their opponents' ranks with Sweeping Strikes which grant them protection against anyone who tries to attack them.
- Fencers use precise piercing type swords to strike through the gaps in their opponents' armor. They are highly mobile and can quickly flank their opponents to reach more vulnerable targets.
High ranking officials that are trained in the tactics of war. They have the Onslaught and Hold Steady perks which can be used to grant bonuses to allies at opportune moments. Marshals additionally have the Blitzkrieg perk which can be used to get the Adrenaline pumping through their soldiers and overwhelm the opponents.
Noble armies and contingents are sometimes led by a member of the nobility. These Knights command a strong presence on the battlefield and are a force to be reckoned with. Knights are addressed as "Sir" and are accompanied by a Squire. Anointed Knights are addressed as "Lord" and are accompanied by two Squires. Squires are young soldiers who have decent training in the art of battle. They stick close to their Knights and provide them with support. A Squire feels Confident as long as his Knight is present on the battlefield but will lose morale if the Knight dies. Knights take the death of their Squires quite seriously and if a Squire is killed, his Knight fights with renewed vigor.
These carry the proud banner of their noble house and bolster the morale of their troops. They have Inspiring Presence and their soldiers will fight with renewed vigor to defend the banner when it is threatened. Heralds are special standard bearers carrying the seal of their lord and can Command an ally to act immediately in the turn order. They are also accompanied by two dedicated bodyguards.
Herald's Bodyguards are highly decorated soldiers who stick close to the Herald and protect him with their lives. They have the Vigilant perk which allows them to slowly build more Action Points while they stay unengaged and then unleash a flurry of attacks when an enemy approaches the Herald. When equipped with a Longsword they are trained in the art of Grappling allowing them to Kick, Push and Tackle their opponents whereas when equipped with a Poleaxe they can deal damage from a distance and Repel enemies who get too close.
Noble armies use dogs bred for war to flank and pin down enemies.
